Las Vegas McCarran International Airport (LAS) is the primary airport serving the Las Vegas metropolitan area. The airport is located in Clark County, Nevada, about nine miles northeast of the city limits of Las Vegas. In the fiscal year 2016, the airport had 5,965,000 passengers arriving and departing, making it the 12th busiest airport in the United States.
The commercial service began in 1945 with Pan American Airways flying a route to Mexico City. In 1955 Trans World Airlines inaugurated service to Los Angeles and opened a permanent terminal that same year. Concourse A was dedicated on May 6, 1956, and served as the main passenger terminal until 1971 when Concourse B opened. Concourse B was later renamed Terminal 3 in 1995. The original terminal building was demolished in 2000 and replaced by a new facility designed by Cesar Pelli and Partners.
Boulder City Municipal Airport is an airport located in Boulder City, Nevada. It is owned and operated by the City of Boulder City. The airport has one runway and served 1,061 passengers in 2008.
